the short answer Imo is no, SoT is not currently well optimised. Many islands (famously thieves haven) tank your framerate. I generally sit at 1440p 110fps on minimum/low settings with a gtx1070 out on the water but can go down to 30fps on certain islands. Your laptop has better specs than my desktop though so your mileage may vary.It is quite similar with sea of thieves. In this game the smallest shipmodel called "Goldfish". The problem with smugglers bay is that its in the far northwest corner of the map, and super far away from most islands. If you sink and respawn there, it'd probably be faster to scuttle and spawn at a different island, than to sail back from smugglers bay. Vaults don't count for some reason. It's currently bugged I think, did a day of Ashen vaults and then a day of Oos in the Roar, over 5 voyages for each, and the vaults didn't count.
